Dangerous goods (often called hazardous materials in the USA) may be pure chemicals, mixtures of substances, manufactured products or articles which can pose a risk to people, animals or the environment if not properly handled in use or in transport. They are also special loads as they require attention and additional requirements before acceptance, storage, loading, transportation and delivery.


At the end of the program, participants would have understand that:


Before dangerous goods can be acceptable for transportation either by passenger aircraft or cargo aircraft, their degree of dangerousness or hazard level must be ascertained. Hence, a number of limitations have been established by IATA Dangerous Goods Regulation (DGR) to guide operators accordingly.  There are some limitations on the quantity of dangerous goods that may be transported by air
